Exanthia is an old and quiet village located on the mountain slopes of Lefkada. Through the village passes one of the main roads of the island that connects the city of Lefkada with Vasiliki via Asprogerakata and Drymonas. The settlement was founded during Byzantine times and is one of the oldest on the island. In and around the village there are old churches that can be seen. The houses are stone, in traditional style with one or two stories and decorated with light brown tiles.
In Exanthia there are a few tavernas and a dozen villas and cottages that offer the perfect escape from the crowds and busy city life. Some accommodations and taverns have excellent views of the Ionian Sea and the spectacular sunset.
